Tool Steel
Steel is a type of metal which consists of iron (Fe), carbon (C), manganese (Mn), silicon (Si), and other elements in small quantities which enhance the steel’s quality.
Each special combination changes the steel’s properties such as making it more malleable, durable, flexible, shock and weather resistant, able to bear weight, and not easily torn or broken to fit its specific purposes.
COLD WORK TOOL STEEL
Usages : Cold work tool steel is widely used in tasks that include stamping, cutting, cold working, ironing, steel cutting blades, and tasks that must endure high levels of friction. This type of steel is made from high levels of carbon and chromium. It also contains molybdenum which enhances the steel’s quenching properties with a 1% mixture of vanadium to help maintain its sharpness, hardness, and extends its span of usage.

HOT WORK TOOL STEEL
Usages: Suitable for all hot work molds; metal, plastic, glass, thick cutting blades, mold parts, and other tools and equipment due to its 0.4% of carbon composition which enhances the steel’s toughness. The HRC after hardening is also high. It consists of 5% chromium which enables the steel to be utilized at high temperatures. The vanadium in the composition also enhances the steel’s resistance towards friction and deterioration.

HIGH SPEED TOOL STEELS
High speed tool steel are the material of cutting equipment that functions at high speeds, such as saws, milling cutters, and more. A distinctive property of this type of steel is its ability to retain the blade’s sharpness at a higher temperature than normal (the blade retains its sharpness even though the temperature is so high the blade has turned red). On the other hand, hot work tool steel cannot retain its sharpness in this working condition.
